This Buckle is from the Kingdom of Prussia and is a brass ( M1895 ) pre-war enlisted man's item. The belt was dyed black to conform to the mid-war regulation. Imperial Germany was composed of four kingdoms; Prussia, Bavaria, Saxony & Wurttemberg along with several Grand Duchies, Duchies and Principalities all of which contributed manpower to the war with several distinctive uniform items. The belt measures approximately 37' long.

Picklehaube is NOT INCLUDED. Imperial Germany was a federation of twenty-seven kingdoms, duchies, principalities and 'free and imperial cities'. By far the largest of these components was Prussia, whose King also bore the title of German emperor. The belt measures 32' which was field modified as extra leather was removed shortening the belt ( see photos ). The belt is natural leather which was not dyed black to conform with mid-war regulations.
