Skimming through I found how to date it by the serial number. First digit or two will tell me the year it was made, so here's hoping it starts with an 8! Tartan, yea, that Tokai Registry is a great site! And it looks like this guitar could be worth up to 5 times what I'm paying for it. But more likely its worth around $800-$1200. One of these from the early 80's got put up on the local craigslist for $1150, and apparently is getting alot of curiosity. The more I look at pictures of these though, the more I think this will be a keeper. My only problem is determining which model it is specifically, which would help me figure out its worth.

I would have thought that would be in the serial number information, but its not. I'll have to sign up at TokaiRegistry and pick their forum over. Even though I don't think I'll sell it, I like to know what I have. When I do things, I tend to overdo things.

Well I went to try out the guitar today. It is a very sweet guitar, and I'm hoping to pick it up Monday after he switches out pcikups for the originals. One issue though, I found out it is a Korean model, which means it is not worth the $400 he is asking. More like $300.

However I just found this out now, after I went to go try out thre guitar. So, he thinks it is a Japanese model, when I know for sure it is Korean made.
