It looks like it is made by Intervideo? It only says XPC-RC01 on the receiver and nothing on the remote. I think it comes with all HP OEM computers with a Asus TV Tuner, but wouldn't surprise me if it was Intervideo as their software came with the computer too. The remote looks like this: The device shows up now. But the program only reacts on the back, mute, and volume keys on the remote. That was also the only buttons that generated 'MCE Strings' in the 'HID Device Tester'.

I am running Windows 7 if that makes any difference. Some of the other keys like the arrow keys, close on the remote works by default in windows, but Intelliremote doesn't show anything when pressing them. I also have another receiver, 'SB X-Fi Midi Port', which I don't use cause that ir-receiver is stuck in the front of the computer. Does that make any difference maybe?

Which explains why the tray blinks only for the ones that sent MCE Strings. The rest of the buttons is your remote just sending normal keyboard keystrokes. A lot of the Chinese knock-off remotes works this way which is why I don't recommend them. You can use programs like AutoHotKey to trap the keyboard keystrokes your remote is sending.
